: : News Nov/Dec 2009 - Updated Installation Statistics

It is now widely accepted that the empirical experience from the existing installations is the main way to validate any lightning protection system efficiency(including mesh system and single rods as reminded recently in the CENELEC debate).

Up to date installation statistics are therefore very important and useful.
Thanks to AFBEL-SERCOBE, a more complete and accurate statistic from the Spanish manufacturers of E.S.E is now available. Consequently this input leads us to update the ILPA installation statistics that now include the most recent figures from all the European ESE manufacturers.

Accordingly, until the end of 2008 the cumulated number of worldwide installed ESE totals 550 000 units and the accumulated experience of these installations is 4 652 600 years.
